Tone on Tone Stamping with Inspired By Stamping

Hello!
I am so excited as today, I have my first post as a guest designer for Inspired By Stamping! For today’s card, I’ll be using the Big Thanks stamp set [pictured below] which has gorgeous fonts and adorable tagline sentiments that I will definitely be using in the future! I found that this stamp set had everything I needed to create this card as I did some tone on tone stamping with the cute flower and leaf images provided.

I began by die cutting the label from Inspired By Stamping’s Fancy Labels 3 set and stamped the “Thank You” from the Big Thanks stamp set in Versafine Onyx Black Ink. As I planned to do some in laid die cutting, I placed the oval die down when I was positioning my stamps with my MISTI tool; if you don’t have a MISTI, you could lay down the die and line up an acrylic block with an element on your card or the edge of your paper.

I blended Peacock Feathers, Broken China, Rusty Hinge and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks onto the label; the latter of the two were just on the edges to help give an aged, antique look. I cut the oval and then held the two pieces together with micropore. I used the flower images from the Big Thanks stamp set to do some tone on tone stamping with Peacock Feather and Broken China Distress Ink – I created a couple of masks with a post it note for the flower which is just an outline image, I felt the complete images didn’t need masks as I was going to be stamping in the same colour. I cut two holes in the sides of the label with a craft knife and thread some crochet ribbon from Inspired By Stamping’s Christmas Ribbon set. I put some black foam on the back of the oval and label before adhering them together; it was quite easy to line the pieces up as I could match the flowers and part of the “K” up. I added some vellum and mounted the entire panel onto an A2 size Kraft card base. I adhered the ribbon down with some double sided sellotape; I placed it along the length of ribbon that would be on the back of the card for extra security.
