Using Autumnal Colours

Another challenge is starting over at Moving Along With The Times today, which is very appropriate for the time of year, “Autumn/Fall”. I decided to use colour to help give that “Autumn” feel – and I LOVE autumnal colours πŸ™‚ This challenge, as always, will run for two weeks and will finish on Wednesday 25th October at 6pm.

I started by stamping a leaf pattern on some white card with three inks: Hero Arts Field Greens, and Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. After finishing the stamping, I cut it out using the largest My Favorite Things Pierced Rectangles die. I created a little banner from Kraft card and, after cutting it to size, ran it through my die cutting machine with the My Favorite Things Stitiched Lines dies to give it a bit of interest so it didn’t look too plain. I then adhered a sentiment using a die from Paper Smooches cut from white card.

To keep the card playful, I added a little hedgehog, who was stamped from a Mama Elephant stamp set, and was coloured with watercolour pencils. After cutting out the image, I went around the body, head and arm (not the prickles) with a black pen to disguise the white of the paper. To finish off, I adhered the leaf panel onto some vellum and placed that on a 5″ x 7″ Kraft card base which I’d placed ribbon washi tape along the center over.

Thank you so much for popping by – we’d love to see your creations at Moving Along With The Times so make sure to link your card to the challenge before 25th October πŸ™‚
